Our track record
Our journey in importing birch plywood to the US began in the mid-1990s under The Penrod Company, Inc. Following Penrod's exit from the plywood business in 2010, we forged ahead, maintaining a pivotal partnership with Weyerhaeuser, Inc. When the US government mandated the separation of Weyerhaeuser's entire hardwood division in 2011, we smoothly transitioned our collaboration to Northwest Hardwoods, Inc., serving as procurement and overseas sales associates for hardwood plywood (primarily birch plywood). By 2018, Northwest Hardwoods, Inc. had ascended to become the foremost importer of Russian birch plywood in the United States, a distinction it upheld until February 2022.
In the autumn of 2022, we made the strategic decision to refocus our efforts on independently importing and distributing Baltic and White birch plywood, while also broadening our sourcing of birch hardwood plywood from diverse jurisdictions (Ukraine, Poland, o.)
